Cairoli led the charge, initially dropping to the rear of the GTP group but managed to steer clear of any first-lap mishaps and impressively completed his first double stint without trouble in the Lamborghini SC63. Despite numerous Full Course Yellow disruptions in the race’s early stages, the team’s dependability shone through. Climbing to as high as eighth place, Cairoli then handed over the reins to Grosjean in the third hour. Throughout the race, the team worked on perfecting their approach to tire warming, a strategy that saw Caldarelli lose some positions to rivals around the halfway mark. Nevertheless, he kept the #63 competitive with consistent lap times, showcasing the team’s ability to adapt and persevere.
With roughly four hours remaining, a malfunctioning door necessitated an unexpected pit stop for the #63, temporarily setting them back by a lap. However, a strategic pit stop during a Full Course Yellow (FCY) allowed them to reclaim their lost lap. Grosjean displayed remarkable determination, fending off the race-leading Porsche for about 10 laps to remain on the lead lap before handing over the wheel to Caldarelli. The race’s final hour saw continued interruptions from Full Course Yellows, which once again aided the #63 in catching up to the lead lap. A smooth run in the last segment of the race, coupled with a late spin by the Proton Porsche, secured an impressive seventh-place finish for the #63, narrowly trailing the sixth-placed BMW by mere hundredths of a second.
In the GTD Pro class, the #19 Iron Lynx team, featuring Mirko Bortolotti, Franck Perera, and Jordan Pepper, clinched a surprising third-place podium finish in a dramatic last-minute turn of events. Their podium position was secured on the race’s final lap, following a penalty handed to the #77 Porsche.

More about the Lamborghini SC63
Engine, Performance, Horsepower, and Specs
The SC63 is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that, coupled with twin turbochargers and electronic wastegate control, produces an impressive maximum power output of 680 CV (500 kW). This model marks a significant milestone as Lamborghini’s inaugural hybrid racing car prototype.
Power is transmitted to the road through a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system, ensuring efficient power delivery. The vehicle incorporates an XTRAC 7-speed transversal gearbox, which enables quick and smooth gear shifts, essential for sustaining speed and momentum in competitive environments. The chassis of the SC63 embodies Lamborghini’s dedication to leading-edge technology and materials. Constructed by Ligier, the carbon fiber monocoque chassis serves as the vehicle’s foundation, striking an ideal balance of durability and lightness.
The body of the SC63 is also crafted from carbon fiber, further reducing weight without compromising durability. This focus on lightweight materials enhances the vehicle’s agility and responsiveness, making it a formidable contender on any track.
The suspension is another area where the SC63 shines, featuring a push-rod layout with adjustable wishbones position, allowing for fine-tuning to suit different tracks and driving conditions. This flexibility ensures that the car remains stable and controllable at high speeds and through tight corners.
Steering is managed by an electric power steering system, providing the driver with precise control and feedback, which is vital for navigating the complexities of high-speed racing. Overall, the SC63 is a masterclass in automotive design and engineering, offering an exhilarating driving experience that is both raw and refined.
